Mission: 

The NUS High Student Council strives to promote a vibrant school culture to create a sense of belonging and to enrich the school experience for all students and staff. As role models, we lead by example, influencing our peers through our words and actions. Fuelled with passion and drive, we venture forth and break new ground, taking the lead in all endeavours. Motivated, we serve the school and community through servant leadership, committing ourselves to the welfare of NUS High School.

Background:

Since its inception in 2005, the Student Council has strived towards bringing forth the vibrancy of school culture and enrichment experiences for all. Fuelled by passion, loyalty and service to the School, our past and present councillors have worked hard to create a colorful and vivacious school environment, in the hope to create a sense of belonging for the student population and staff. 

2009 marks the Student Council’s fifth year in NUS High School. Under the umbrella of Student Leadership encompasses other leadership boards, the merger of the Student Council and the Peer Support Board in 2008; respective subject advocates: the Music Ambassadors, the National Education Ambassadors, Green Ambassadors, Interest Groups: Math, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry; Mentor Representatives; CCA Leaders and House Captains. This collaboration between the many leadership boards will create opportunities for students to serve the school and students.

The current strength of the Student Council is 111 members.  There are 24 EXCO members made up from the various committees. They are: the Executive, School Functions, Public Relations and Communications, Welfare and Initiatives, School Spirit and the Leadership Development Committees.  Each of the committee holds a different job scope and expectations. Comprised of young and passionate students spanning five levels, the Student Council is a motivated group that is always ready to serve our school and community through servant leadership.

The Student Council will work hard to create a platform for nurturing servant leaders of tomorrow. By displaying exemplary conduct and excellence, student councillors will role-model and lead by example. To achieve this goal, the Student Council eventually hopes to initiate and organize leadership programmes for students of NUS High School.

The vigor and passion of Student Councilors can never be extinguished and for this reason, all of us can look forward to an exciting year ahead as NUS High School continues to soar to greater heights. Go NUS High!
